The 2017 non-professional NHRA Sportsman season is set to be an exciting one for Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak drivers. Mopar and Dodge are combining forces to provide amped up support to their dedicated racers by way of new programs and significant resources.

Impressively, three supercharged, 354-cubic-inch Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak NHRA Sportsman dragsters decked out in official Mopar and Dodge livery will have factory backing from Mopar and Dodge. Since 2008, the Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak program has produced 260 racecars. In an effort to grow it Mopar and Dodge will use this direct opportunity to gather data for future implementation.

“Amateur Sportsman racers fuel our brand’s involvement in NHRA competition,” said Bill Harry, Head of Marketing, Mopar. “In 2017 we’re backing up those words with new initiatives that prove our commitment to our most dedicated and passionate brand ambassadors. We’re also very excited to work more closely with the Dodge brand in providing select factory-backed support for Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak drivers.”

Amateur drivers who compete in Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak cars will be enrolled in the new “Magneti Marelli Offered by Mopar Drag Pak Rewards” program which offers them chances to win monetary awards.  The long running Mopar Contingency Program will also offer all Mopar powered Sportsman drivers utilizing specific Mopar parts and flying the Mopar Contingency decal on their cars additional awards.

“The Dodge brand has a long, proud tradition in NHRA drag racing dating back to the early 1960s,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Cars, Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and Fiat, FCA North America. “We look forward to extending that tradition by joining forces with Mopar to provide support for select Dodge Challenger Drag Pak NHRA Sportsman teams for the 2017 season.”

All Mopar powered NHRA Sportsman racers can also expect to receive trackside advice and support from FCA engineers at all 24 NHRA national events.
