Come April 2017, Dodge will be officially unveiling the 2018 Challenger SRT Demon at the New York International Auto Show. As if the supercharged 707HP Challenger SRT Hellcat and Charger SRT Hellcat weren’t already enough to make the performance car enthusiast subculture salivate, Dodge deemed it necessary to revive the Demon marque.
“Most cars attempt to be everything to everybody. Then there are the rare few that revel in a single objective, rendering them totally irresistible to a subculture,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Car Brands – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT – FCA North America. “The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is conceived, designed and engineered for a subculture of enthusiasts who know that a tenth is a car and a half second is your reputation.”
Subsequently, Dodge will be teasing us with a series of videos and downloadable content that engages fans to learn more about the SRT Demon’s background leading up to the New York showdown.
2018 Challenger SRT Demon “Cage” Video 1
As seen above, they’ve already released the first video in the series appropriately named “Cage” as it starts out with the animated Hellcat in a cage at the Dodge Research Lab in Detroit Michigan. The SRT team then transports the caged Hellcat out onto a city street where it is let loose where it bites into a canister of what appears to be toxic nuclear waste. As a result, the Hellcat begins mutating into the Demon, marking a new era of Dodge SRT’s high performance pedigree.
In an unmatched effort to beef up their advertising campaign, Dodge has set up a very cool website where all of the new videos and content will be posted. Head over to www.ifyouknowyouknow.com to check all of it out. In the meantime, we will be monitoring it and posting updates here about the 2018 Challenger SRT Demon as soon as they come out.
