You ever get the feeling that sometimes the harder you try, the worse things work against you? Well this just might the be situation that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is facing. Their attempt to raise hype and anticipation about the upcoming 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon by trickling out teaser videos seems to be getting undermined as of late. However, we see nothing wrong with that of course. Who doesn’t want to find out all there is to know about the SRT Demon sooner than later?
The first leak that surfaced was a Facebook video recorded by Vin Diesel giving a conclusion speech to crew members of “Fast 8,” the latest installment in “the Fast and the Furious” movie franchise in which the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is slated to make an appearance. Behind Vin Diesel we see two silver Challengers with body lines alluding to styling cues we’ve come to learn about the new SRT Demon. For starters there is the mammoth sized hood scoop compared to the one found on the Challenger SRT Hellcat. The widebody and wider wheels are also painfully obvious and upon closer examination of the fender the new Demon logo makes an appearance.
Secondly we have the video posted by Instagram user @moparmemes of a mysterious SRT Demon looking Challenger visually equal to the ones we see in the Vin Diesel video.
The Demon’s official debut is still months away however the first 2 (of 15) teaser videos produced by the automaker over at ifyouknowyouknow.com have revealed a few tidbits. We know that the Challenger SRT Demon will weigh in at least 200lbs lighter than the Hellcat in addition to some serious handling upgrades. Also expect the Demon to out-power the already powerful Hellcat which currently generates 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque.
