Most insanely strung out performance vehicles on the road fight the continuous battle known as “heatsoaking” and high intake air temperatures (IAT’s). This however won’t be the case for the 2018 Challenger SRT Demon as Dodge engineers have pulled another trick out of their sleeve.
Recently released teaser video, “No Ice”, reveals to us about how the Challenger SRT Demon runs as though it were up in the cold Arctic due to its super cooled induction system.
Dodge has added another item to their already long list of firsts for factory production cars by installing a liquid-to-air charge air cooler chilling system on the new SRT Demon.
Normally, air induction temperatures on blown cars are reduced by air or coolant passing through the charge air cooler. The Challenger SRT Demon, on the other hand, utilizes its air conditioning system to chill the charge air cooler upon activating Drag Mode. As a result, IAT’s have seen a reduction by up to 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
Stay tuned for the upcoming big New York International Auto Show reveal and as always, ifyouknowyouknow.com has lots of SRT Demon content to rummage through!
